The Klitzekleine Ring is a community of eleven wineries in and around the town of Traben-Trarbach. We were brought together by our love of winemaking tradition and a desire to protect our region’s culture for future generations. It is with this common ambition that we present to you our Riesling wines – we’ve called them BERGRETTUNG. It is launched to the market each year in September during the »Tafelrunde«, our by now almost legendary wine tasting evening.

BERGRETTUNG is a pun with the German name for the alpine rescue services. ’Rettung’ is German for ’rescue’, ’ Berg’ means ’mountain’, which refers to the alpine character of Mosel vineyards: Alongside the production of our wines, we are dedicated to the recovery, maintenance—and thus rescue—of plots in some of the world’s steepest sites, which would fall into disrepair and disuse otherwise. In this way, we strive to support the preservation of what we consider to be one of the most breathtaking cultural landscapes on earth.
